Portrait Painting Workshop with Dorian Vallejo
VallejoVallejo  

Professional portrait artist Dorian Vallejo will present his approach to painting in oil alla prima from the live model, in poses of approximately 6 hours each. Relationships between drawing and painting will be discussed, as well as relationships of colour and value. Students will work towards developing a fluid technique that is both accurate to the model and gestural. Dorian will demonstrate his painting technique for the group and assist each person as they paint the portrait from life. Click here for the materials list for this workshop.

 
Cost: $550. Canadian + tax

New Classes : fall 2010
Portrait Painting in Oil  

This course will feature a variety of approaches to painting the portrait from life. Offered on Saturdays, beginning September 4, 2010

Constructive Anatomy I: The Human Body - 4 weeks        

This course gives a strong foundation for anyone interested in drawing the human figure in dynamic poses from imagination. These classes are open to anyone who has completed Cast Drawing, Anatomical Drawing, and at least 8 weeks of Life Drawing.

       
Constructive Anatomy II: The Human Head- 4 weeks        
A course focusing on the proportions, expressions, and muscle structure of the human head.
       

Memory Drawing : 4 weeks

A specialized course which improves the visual memory and perception with memory exercises. Open to students who have completed Cast Drawing.

Lecture and Demonstration at Algonquin College, Ottawa
We are pleased to return to Algonquin College to discuss the Atelier, our personal artwork, and do a portrait demonstration for students and faculty. Special thanks to Natasha Mazurka for orgainizing this event.

L'ART DU NU

FIFA

Eric Mannella was featured in L'Art du Nu, a documentary film which explores the nature of relationships between artists and life models. It premiered in Montreal at the 25th Anniversary Festival International du Film sur l'Art (FIFA) March 8 - 18, 2007, and has been shown nationally on CBC, ArtTV, and Bravo.
